Now New Year’s is a popular time to shoot fireworks, and I warmly approve of this custom. I may have shot some fireworks myself in my salad days. But safety must always be paramount, as we wouldn’t wish for our celebration to turn into a tragedy. In that vein, let me present:
Prettydragoon’s Fireworks Safety Tips
- Always wear eye protection. Safety goggles are cheaper than a seeing-eye dog.
- Never wear clothes that could catch fire.
- Never launch rockets from any part of your body (hand, whatever). And especially not from your whatever! A stable launch support (such as an empty champagne bottle) is essential.
- Shoot fireworks first, drink after. (And now you have an empty champagne bottle for next time.)
