To begin with, I’d like to thank ConWorkShop for their daily themes. They are a great aid in creating words, whether you choose to follow, subvert, or ignore them. It’s always easier to create if you have something to react to.
In total I created 66 words for
Rireinutire in connection with the ConWorkShop Lexember themes, at least one each day. Of these, 62 were new lemma forms (mostly compounds and other derivations of extant lexemes) and 4 were extensions of existing lexemes. These 66 lexemes resulted in 88 new wordlinks in the dictionary.
The new lexemes can be divided by part of speech thus: 48 nouns (44 IN, 4 R), 5 verbs (2 INTR, 3 TR), 5 adjectives, 3 interjections, and 1 adverb.
The old lexemes can be divided by part of speech thus: 2 nouns (2 IN) and 2 verbs (2 TR).
My most productive days were Lexember 6 (markets, marketplaces and fairs; guaranteed to get an accountant excited) and Lexember 30 (No theme!. which I turned into botanical terminology), both resulting in seven words.
I did note going in that I didn’t have the spoons this year to do much more than the official recommendation of one word a day, and so it turned out. I did however manage to coin a few new roots:
kevu /ˈkevu/ n. IN plantain, cooking banana
nape /ˈnɑpe/ n. IN trough, manger (container)
pua /ˈpuɑ/ n. IN eaves
vomu /ˈvomu/ n.IN spit; skewer
Even so, my favourite new word is still the one I started Lexember with:
puhaañañiri /ˈpuhɑˌɑŋɑˌŋiɹi/ n. IN dessert spoon
