Much of this website is dedicated to the planet Rireinu, its nature, peoples, and cultures. Obviously this is likely to include visual content. As the native sapients of Rireinu are almost, but not quite, entirely indistinguishable from Humans, we are constrained to consider any depictions of such in light of relevant taboos pertaining to the… Continue reading Beyond this point you may encounter mature themes

Kinship in Rireinutire
The basic kinship terms of Rireinutire presented in convenient chart form. To a viewer used to Human cultures this chart may seem slightly odd due to Rireinukave biology. For the convenience of those of us whose Rireinutire may be a little rusty this version of the chart features transliterations of the text in Human script… Continue reading Kinship in Rireinutire
Rireinutire noticed
It was a great honour that I was shown when the users of ConWorkShop.com voted to recognise my language Rireinutire with the 2024 Hashi Award in the category Best A Priori Conlang. I am honoured and delighted, and I will try to show the confidence of the voters was not misplaced. To that end, I… Continue reading Rireinutire noticed
Sosuratoroma (The Sky-Earth Song)
Fig. 1. The Sky-Earth Song. [sosuratoroma] or "The Sky-Earth Song" is a perfect pangram of the Rireinutire syllabary. In other words, each character appears in it once and only once. Although it has sometimes been used as an ordering for the syllabary, that role has been for centuries now monopolised by the kuuñuuvisu ordering, and… Continue reading Sosuratoroma (The Sky-Earth Song)
How to tell if you’re Rireinukave
If you're Rireinukave... • You believe that freedom of speech was laid down by the Allmother in the beginning of time. • You're familiar with Kane Takesima, Pera Simamatu, Rituno Yuvu (Fruits of the Season), Ereñara Iyo (A Night with Stars), Kemi-takupiñi (Postwoman Kemi), Anorase Anonose (Sunset Sunrise), Eti Hirekitu, Tara Ataruvo, Erehetu (Star Patrol),… Continue reading How to tell if you’re Rireinukave

This syllabary is usually transcribed into Human script according to the Revised Standard (RS) system, which is depicted in the first picture together with the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA) values… Continue reading Rireinutire script
Daughters of Ano
Overview of the planets in Rireinu (or Ano) system The Rireinu planetary system consists of the nine planets orbiting Ano, the sun, together with their satellites and countless other orbiting bodies. Two of the planets, Rireinu and Minaere, have conditions suitable for terrestrial-type life. In the diagram above you can see the relative sizes of… Continue reading Daughters of Ano
Rika, from Yatipaya
I'm a hawker. I sell deep fried crickets from my cart in downtown Yatipaya. It's not a job that will ever make me rich, but it's a living. Not enough that I'd be able to afford babies on my own, but I'll surely find a nice girl yet. I'm still young, I'm a hard worker,… Continue reading Rika, from Yatipaya
Introduction to Rireinu
In an unfashionable spiral arm of the Milky Way Galaxy, an unremarkable yellow sun is orbited by an average number of planets, two of which are inhabited by a carbon-based life form almost, but not quite, entirely indistinguishable from Humans. These are the Rireinukave, the people of Rireinu. And here are some of their stories.
Language
Most of what I do with language has to deal with Rireinutire, the main and since Unification some five hundred years ago the only language on Rireinu. In other words, Rireinutire is a conlang or constructed language, made up out of whole cloth by yours truly. Now conlangs may be categorised and classified by several… Continue reading Language
