No help from above? In accordance with ConWorkShop tradition, today’s theme is No theme!. First I was going to do nihilism, but then I decided to get nastik. That is, to coin the words for ‘atheist’ and ‘atheism’, inspired by the Sanskrit word नास्तिक (nāstika) ‘one who says “is not”‘.

Thus, the Rireinutire word for ‘atheist’ is yasekepiñi ‘one who says “is not”‘. This is formed from the negative present participle of the verb ‘to be’ (ya-se-ke be-NEGPPART) by adding the agentive suffix -piñi.

yasekepiñi huno sitara sunokave hi hase yakaseva:
be-NEGPPARTAGZ.NOM ones.own heart-INE say-PRSHSY that.QUO goddess.NOM be-PRSNEGSENS ||
The atheist says in her heart, “There is no god.”
